Case Study of ePBN

Project

Global Supply Chain Management / e-PBN / Collaborative Commerce

Client:

ABC Ltd.

(Leading Exporter)

ABC Ltd is partnering with manufacturers to offer an intensive range of products in automobile industries and then provide "one-stop" solutions in the global market.

The Business Process

ABC Ltd has an agreement with his customers for a regular supply of "automobile components" through out the year.

Some of the customers require the supply to be available at the nearest warehouse in their country before the same been delivered to them.

The Customer periodically provides, item requirement schedules for specific weeks in the year.

The Supply Chain Manager would distribute the requirements within his suppliers and plan the logistics movement so as to meet the expected date of supply as per the customer's schedule.

The suppliers are committed for the yearly supply of the items.

Logistic Companies are partners to the client for the logistic movement of the cargoes.

Client’s need

ABC Ltd. required a solution, which will make the Business Process efficient in each department. Another major need is that the business information should be transparent within their own departments, to the clients and to the partners (Suppliers and Logistic Companies).

Chenab’s Solution

Chenab has developed an online Supply Chain Management Application that provides schedule’s tracking to ABC Ltd’s customers. The schedule tracking covers ‘supplier‘s production’ allocation to the schedule, logistic movement, shipping information and warehouse stock position.

The key business process issues which are stream lined by this application are:

  • Customer Requirement is distributed within the suppliers on the basis of their performance.

  • Suppliers commit the supply before client commits the same to the Customer.

  • Customer’s demand is transparent to the suppliers.

  • A logistic manager can efficiently plan the logistic movements considering the business holidays to meet the expected dates of supply.

  • Emergency and ‘Short schedule Shipment’ are easily managed.

  • All Logistic partners in the chain are linked through the same application and transparent to each other’s activities as well as performance.

  • Entire Export life cycle from LC tracking to realization with Web based Custom’s Documents generation and accessible by logistic partners.

  • Export benefits tracking (AL, DEPB, DBK).
  • Consignment Exports Management.
